I was already running 5.21-GE-1 this whole time, but I didn't realize until today that I actually don't(!) have gstreamer's ugly plugins installed on my system, be they lib32 or not. It sounds like this problem should already be solved in the newest builds of GloriousEggroll (proton-ge-custom), because they DO seem to come with all of the gstreamer plugins, in case anyone else doesn't want to wait.
